A Grand Estate
with Timeless Beauty

A short scenic drive from Brielle House brings you to Emo Court, a magnificent neoclassical mansion set amidst sweeping lawns, tranquil woodlands, and a beautiful lake. Designed in the late 18th century by renowned architect James Gandon, this historic estate blends architectural grandeur with natural serenity.

Originally built for the Earls of Portarlington, Emo Court has seen centuries of change — from noble residence to Jesuit retreat, and eventually into the hands of the Irish state. Today, it offers visitors a chance to explore Ireland’s aristocratic past while strolling through formal gardens, tree-lined avenues, and lakeside paths teeming with seasonal colour.

With its iconic copper dome, elegant rotunda, and restored interiors, the house itself is a masterpiece — and when open for guided tours, offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of the landed gentry. But even without stepping inside, the estate’s 35 hectares of gardens and parklands make it a perfect destination for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking peace and beauty.

This is a lovely self catering accommodation, really cosy, comfortable and very clean.
Ann had left some essentials to start us off such as milk, coffee, cereals which we were grateful for as we didn’t need rush out after a long day travelling. We will definitely be staying again.

We came over from the UK and stayed here for a week in October whilst visiting family and friends in the Midlands. It was a perfect location, near all the places we needed to be and easy to get to from the ferry. Brielle House is a lovely, warm, cosy cottage, well equipped and comfortable.

We needed an overnight spot when attending the Taylor Swift concert in Dublin. The home is Lovely. Beautifully presented, spacious and very clean. Very kind host. Generous milk. Tea. Coffee. Cereals and biscuits left for our use. I have no hesitation recommending this home. It would make a great base if touring the Midlands, etc. Thanks, Anne, of Brielle House Guest Accommodation
