Kiss the Famous Blarney Stone and Explore Enchanting Grounds, Just Over 2 Hours from Brielle House.

Blarney Castle

Legend, Lore and
Lush Landscapes

Rising majestically above the rolling County Cork countryside, Blarney Castle is best known for the legendary Blarney Stone—said to bestow the gift of eloquence on anyone bold enough to kiss it. But beyond this iconic ritual, the castle’s history dates back to the 15th century, offering visitors a glimpse into medieval life through its sturdy battlements, spiral staircases, and ancient chambers.

Surrounding the castle, the sprawling grounds are a wonder in themselves. Discover themed gardens including the tranquil Poison Garden, the romantic Rock Close with its fairytale atmosphere, and the vibrant Flower Garden. Each area has its own charm and stories, making a walk through the estate an immersive journey into horticultural artistry and fantasy.

Blarney Castle & Gardens offer more than just a tourist stop—they invite you to stroll at your own pace, explore hidden nooks, and engage with nature and legend. Whether you’re admiring panoramic views from the ramparts, wandering through fern-filled glens, or uncovering myths behind ivy-covered relics, there’s an adventure around every corner.

Ann had left some essentials to start us off such as milk, coffee, cereals which we were grateful for as we didn’t need rush out after a long day travelling. We will definitely be staying again.

We came over from the UK and stayed here for a week in October whilst visiting family and friends in the Midlands. It was a perfect location, near all the places we needed to be and easy to get to from the ferry. Brielle House is a lovely, warm, cosy cottage, well equipped and comfortable.

We needed an overnight spot when attending the Taylor Swift concert in Dublin. The home is Lovely. Beautifully presented, spacious and very clean. Very kind host. Generous milk. Tea. Coffee. Cereals and biscuits left for our use. I have no hesitation recommending this home. It would make a great base if touring the Midlands, etc. Thanks, Anne, of Brielle House Guest Accommodation
