Muckross House

A Tapestry of
Nature and Tradition

Nestled at the edge of County Kerry, Killarney is framed by Ireland’s first national park—home to sparkling lakes, ancient oak forests, and the rugged beauty of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks mountains. It’s a living showcase of Ireland’s natural heritage and offers a serene escape into unspoilt landscapes.

The bustling town of Killarney blends traditional Irish charm with warm hospitality—complete with cosy pubs, lively music sessions, local crafts, and a welcoming village atmosphere. Visit the historic Ross Castle, Muckross House, and the 15th-century Muckross Abbey to immerse yourself in centuries of Irish storytelling and culture.

Killarney is an outdoor enthusiast’s delight: explore by jaunting car through wooded trails, hike the famous Gap of Dunloe, cycle the scenic Ring of Kerry, or follow lakeside paths to hidden waterfalls. Every step reveals a new panorama and a fresh sense of wonder in this captivating landscape.

Ann had left some essentials to start us off such as milk, coffee, cereals which we were grateful for as we didn’t need rush out after a long day travelling. We will definitely be staying again.

We came over from the UK and stayed here for a week in October whilst visiting family and friends in the Midlands. It was a perfect location, near all the places we needed to be and easy to get to from the ferry. Brielle House is a lovely, warm, cosy cottage, well equipped and comfortable.

We needed an overnight spot when attending the Taylor Swift concert in Dublin. The home is Lovely. Beautifully presented, spacious and very clean. Very kind host. Generous milk. Tea. Coffee. Cereals and biscuits left for our use. I have no hesitation recommending this home. It would make a great base if touring the Midlands, etc. Thanks, Anne, of Brielle House Guest Accommodation
